Key Features and Benefits
- Our Chicken Coops are TALLER! - Most chicken enclosures on the market top out at around 180cm high—ours with the insulated sloped roof stand tall at a full 220cm. That’s basically 40cm or an extra foot (+ a bit) for free. At over 20% taller than most standard enclosures, it’s the kind of difference you notice straight away.
- Built Tough for Aussie Conditions - Built tough with galvanised, double welded, powder coated steel frames, Colourbond metal as standard and galvanised Powdercoated wire mesh (as standard) compared to other products on the market that have NO Powdercoating at all. Most Chinese imported cages are just powdercoated over raw (non-galvanised metal) and they rust from the inside out. Habitat Chicken Coops are ready for harsh Aussie conditions and won't rust.
- Warmer in the Winter and Cooler in Summer - We use Aluminium Insulated Roof Panelling as standard (others charge you $100s extra) Unpredictable weather, hot sun, cold rain, whatever rolls through—our Insulated Roof handles it.
- MODULAR so they will expand with your hobby - This modular chicken enclosure system lets you extend as needed—add panels, increase length, or scale it up as your needs grow. No ripping everything out and starting again.
- EASY to Set Up - And when it comes to putting it together—no dramas. It’s quicker and easier to assemble than a flat-pack garden shed because our panels ARE NOT a box of components which need to be assembled before you even start to erect the enclosure. Everything lines up, bolts together properly and before you know it, you’ve got a solid chicken coop standing there looking great......without owing old mate Tradie down the road a slab.

Built for Practical Backyard Chicken Keeping
The Habitat 236 x 123 x 224H Chicken Coop Enclosure gives you a different layout option from our 123 x 236 x 224H. With the entry door positioned on the long side, it gives your better visibility across the front.
The full-length insulated sloped roof helps keep the enclosure cooler in summer and warmer in winter while protecting your girls from harsh sun and wet weather. Furthermore, the long solid wall section allows you to position the enclosure to help block prevailing winds and create a calmer, more sheltered environment for your chooks.
Strong, Sheltered and Built to Last
Solid wall sections provide extra shelter from wind and rain, while the open mesh areas maintain ventilation and allow natural light to move through the enclosure. This combination helps keep the space fresher and more comfortable for your chickens year-round.
Habitat builds the entire structure using galvanised steel framing with durable powder-coated and Colorbond finishes designed for long-term outdoor use in Australian conditions.
With its clean lines and practical footprint, this enclosure fits neatly along fence lines and backyard boundaries while still looking sharp enough to keep on display.
Practical Features That Make Daily Care Easier
The integrated coop attachment gives your chooks a quieter and more protected nesting space while making routine maintenance quicker for you.
A lift-up access hatch allows fast egg collection without stepping into the enclosure, while removable plastic bedding trays make clean-outs easy.
The coop attachment also includes its own insulated sloped roof section for water runoff and a more comfortable nesting environment throughout the year. In addition, the matching coop ramp allows your birds to move easily between the nesting area and the enclosure floor.
Flexible for Growing Flocks
Whether you’re starting with a few hens or building a larger flock over time, our modular system gives you flexibility as your needs change.
You can extend the enclosure, add extra sections or customise the layout later to better suit your backyard space and flock size.
With its smart orientation, strong build and practical weather protection, this enclosure makes everyday chicken keeping simpler and more enjoyable.

Lock In a Rock-Solid Base
The Habitat Concrete Former helps give your enclosure a rock-solid foundation that stays put. Your enclosure is already built tough, but adding a concrete base gives you extra stability—especially if you’re dealing with strong winds, exposed yards or uneven ground.
It bolts together easily, your enclosure fixes straight to it, and once the concrete is poured, everything locks in nice and solid. You also get a cleaner, more practical setup, with a smooth surface that makes sweeping out mess and wash-downs far easier.
Strong, tidy and built for long-term peace of mind. Available in two sizes to suit your setup.
