Key Features and Benefits

  1. Our Chicken Coops are TALLER! - Most chicken enclosures on the market top out at around 180cm high—ours with the insulated sloped roof stand tall at a full 220cm. That’s basically 40cm or an extra foot (+ a bit) for free. At over 20% taller than most standard enclosures, it’s the kind of difference you notice straight away.
  2. Built Tough for Aussie Conditions - Built tough with galvanised, double welded, powder coated steel frames, Colourbond metal as standard and galvanised Powdercoated wire mesh (as standard) compared to other products on the market that have NO Powdercoating at all. Most Chinese imported cages are just powdercoated over raw (non-galvanised metal) and they rust from the inside out. Habitat Chicken Coops are ready for harsh Aussie conditions and won't rust.
  3. Warmer in the Winter and Cooler in Summer - We use Aluminium Insulated Roof Panelling as standard (others charge you $100s extra)  Unpredictable weather, hot sun, cold rain, whatever rolls through—our Insulated Roof handles it.
  4. MODULAR so they will expand with your hobby - This modular chicken enclosure system lets you extend as needed—add panels, increase length, or scale it up as your needs grow. No ripping everything out and starting again.
  5. EASY to Set Up - And when it comes to putting it together—no dramas. It’s quicker and easier to assemble than a flat-pack garden shed because our panels ARE NOT a box of components which need to be assembled before you even start to erect the enclosure. Everything lines up, bolts together properly and before you know it, you’ve got a solid chicken coop standing there looking great......without owing old mate Tradie down the road a slab.

You Have The Big Kahuna Keeping The Girls Safe

When you want serious space for your girls, the Habitat 118 x 477 x 224H Chicken Coop is an enclosure that feels open, practical and built for larger backyard hen's parties.

The extended layout gives your chooks far more room for feeding areas, water stations and day-to-day movement, helping reduce crowding. It creates a calmer and more comfortable environment while still keeping everything contained in one manageable backyard setup.

This is the enclosure that turns everyday chicken keeping into a spectacle.

A Backyard Hen House That Stands Out

At 118cm wide x 477cm deep x 224cm high, this large chicken enclosure makes a real statement in the backyard. It sits neatly along fence lines and boundaries, although the clean design and modern finishes make it something you’ll proudly keep on display.

Habitat builds the structure using galvanised steel framing with durable powder-coated and Colorbond finishes designed for long-term outdoor use in harsh Aussie conditions.

Above, the split roof design helps create a practical mix of shelter and airflow. One half features an insulated sloped roof that stays cooler in summer and warmer in winter while helping shield your birds from the weather. The other half uses an open wire mesh roof section that increases ventilation and allows more natural light into the enclosure.

Together with the combination of solid wall panels and mesh sections, the layout helps maintain a comfortable balance of protection, visibility and fresh airflow throughout the enclosure.

Practical Features That Simplify Chicken Keeping

The integrated coop attachment gives your birds a quieter and more sheltered nesting area while making daily care easier for you.

You can collect eggs quickly using the lift-up access hatch without entering the enclosure, while removable plastic bedding trays help make clean-outs faster and less messy.

The coop attachment also includes its own insulated roof section to help maintain a more comfortable nesting environment year-round. In addition, the matching access ramp allows your birds to move easily between the coop and the enclosure floor.

Built to Grow With Your Flock

Whether you already keep a larger flock or plan to expand over time, this enclosure gives you the flexibility to adapt your setup as needed.

Add extra sections to extend the layout or customise the enclosure later to better suit your birds and your backyard space.

With its larger footprint, practical layout and modern finishes, this enclosure combines serious flock capacity with a design that still looks right at home in a modern Australian backyard.

Lock In a Rock-Solid Base

The Habitat Concrete Former helps give your enclosure a rock-solid foundation that stays put. Your enclosure is already built tough, but adding a concrete base gives you extra stability—especially if you’re dealing with strong winds, exposed yards or uneven ground.

It bolts together easily, your enclosure fixes straight to it, and once the concrete is poured, everything locks in nice and solid. You also get a cleaner, more practical setup, with a smooth surface that makes sweeping out mess and wash-downs far easier.

Strong, tidy and built for long-term peace of mind. Available in two sizes to suit your setup.
