Key Features and Benefits
- Our Chicken Coops are TALLER! - Most chicken enclosures on the market top out at around 180cm high—ours with the insulated sloped roof stand tall at a full 220cm. That’s basically 40cm or an extra foot (+ a bit) for free. At over 20% taller than most standard enclosures, it’s the kind of difference you notice straight away.
- Built Tough for Aussie Conditions - Built tough with galvanised, double welded, powder coated steel frames, Colourbond metal as standard and galvanised Powdercoated wire mesh (as standard) compared to other products on the market that have NO Powdercoating at all. Most Chinese imported cages are just powdercoated over raw (non-galvanised metal) and they rust from the inside out. Habitat Chicken Coops are ready for harsh Aussie conditions and won't rust.
- Warmer in the Winter and Cooler in Summer - We use Aluminium Insulated Roof Panelling as standard (others charge you $100s extra) Unpredictable weather, hot sun, cold rain, whatever rolls through—our Insulated Roof handles it.
- MODULAR so they will expand with your hobby - This modular chicken enclosure system lets you extend as needed—add panels, increase length, or scale it up as your needs grow. No ripping everything out and starting again.
- EASY to Set Up - And when it comes to putting it together—no dramas. It’s quicker and easier to assemble than a flat-pack garden shed because our panels ARE NOT a box of components which need to be assembled before you even start to erect the enclosure. Everything lines up, bolts together properly and before you know it, you’ve got a solid chicken coop standing there looking great......without owing old mate Tradie down the road a slab.

Smarter Airflow for Healthier Backyard Chickens
Give your chooks a more comfortable and protected space with the Habitat 118 x 241 x 232H Chicken Coop Enclosure. Designed for backyard chicken keepers, this setup combines sheltered protection with improved airflow. This helps your birds stay comfortable through changing Australian conditions.
You get solid wall panels at one end for extra shelter from wind and weather, while the mesh section at the opposite end keeps the enclosure open, bright and well ventilated. Instead of dealing with timber that can swell, crack and deteriorate outdoors, you get galvanised steel framing with a durable powder-coated and colourbond finishes built for long-term outdoor use.
Above, the split roof design helps manage both heat and protection. One side features an insulated sloped roof that blocks harsh sun and rain, while the slotted peak roof allows hot air to escape naturally. As a result, you create a cooler and fresher environment for your birds during warmer weather.
Practical Features That Simplify Daily Care
To make chicken keeping easier, the integrated nesting coop includes a lift-up access hatch so you can collect eggs quickly without climbing into the enclosure.
Inside the coop attachment, removable plastic bedding trays help you speed through clean-outs with less mess and less effort. The nesting area also includes its own insulated roof to provide a quieter and more sheltered space for laying and roosting throughout the year.
In addition, the matching access ramp allows your chooks to move easily between the nesting area and the enclosure floor.
A Flexible Enclosure That Adapts With You
Start with a smaller flock now, then expand your setup later as your chicken numbers grow.
You can extend the enclosure, add extra sections or customise the layout over time to better suit your backyard space and flock size.
Whether you want a practical suburban chicken run or a larger enclosure system down the track, Habitat gives you the flexibility to build around your needs.

Lock In a Rock-Solid Base
The Habitat Concrete Former helps give your enclosure a rock-solid foundation that stays put. Your enclosure is already built tough, but adding a concrete base gives you extra stability—especially if you’re dealing with strong winds, exposed yards or uneven ground.
It bolts together easily, your enclosure fixes straight to it, and once the concrete is poured, everything locks in nice and solid. You also get a cleaner, more practical setup, with a smooth surface that makes sweeping out mess and wash-downs far easier.
Strong, tidy and built for long-term peace of mind. Available in two sizes to suit your setup.
